Corporate Job Bank is currently looking for Facilitates Project Coordinators to work with our State client in the Tempe area!  



Description:


Coordinates facilities projects, both renovation and new construction from the initiation stage through planning, design, and construction with all involved


Agencies.


 


Essential Duties:


Coordinate renovations between the proponent user and all appropriate service groups and outside agencies, ensuring procedures and materials comply with specifications; observes work in progress to gauge timeliness, conformance with requirements, and acceptable workmanship. Interview proponent user to collect information for designing their renovation plan, accounting for all required services and construction. Provides cost estimates for manpower, materials, and equipment for renovation designs. Attends pre-construction conferences and reviews contract bidding documents. Reviews contract plans and specifications for conformance to project requirements. Obtain approvals and submit all paperwork to appropriate agencies where required for renovation designs.  Consult with the user in general laboratory systems design and parts acquisition. Examples include all special acid sinks, strain gauges, and measurement equipment. Coordinate maintenance and service issues with Physical Facilities where required. Create and update space characteristic database.


 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


 


Knowledge of facilities planning and construction management processes and procedures. Knowledge of building construction, materials, and methods. Knowledge of estimating, budgeting and scheduling practices. Knowledge of building codes and standards of practice. Skill in reading and interpreting plans and specifications and comparing then with construction in progress. Skill in construction inspection. Skill with using computers, including word-processing and email. Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written.


 


 


Working Environment


Accesses various campus sites with involves walking, climbing stairs or ladders, standing and walking on uneven surfaces from long periods of time in extreme temperatures. Conducts physical inspections in confined space and above ceilings. Drives university vehicle and/or cart to campus sites. Operates a computer, which requires sitting for long periods of time. Use of personal protective equipment as required.


 


Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering or related field AND three years of construction experience; OR seven years of progressively responsible construction experience, or and equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

Additional requirements: Answering phones Data Entry Work order system TMA, CMMS (a plus!) Pulling reports from system Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel
