- Work with recycling operations to ensure plant equipment is operating when necessary, through diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair. Issues may be mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or electronic.
- Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on all plant equipment to ensure maximum productivity. Schedules may be directed by manufacturer's specifications or developed internally.
- Work with planners and operations to focus on improving productivity through the use of improvements in machines, materials, or processes.
- Install and troubleshoot any new equipment as directed.
- Develop and lead projects as assigned or required to support operations.
Education and/or Experience Required:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
- Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated experience managing a maintenance department with extrusion, gearbox repair, project management, building heating and cooling, ventilation, mechanical, electrical repair and troubleshooting
- Ability to train on days and then work nights
- Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Broad knowledge of shop mathematics and electrical calculations
