Corporate Job Bank has an immediate need for Custodial/Porter .
Our client is a Community College in Glendale (59th Ave & Olive)
This position is long term / temp to hire
$18 per hour
2nd Shift: Mon - Thurs 4pm - 12: 30am, Friday 3pm - 11: 30pm
The primary function of this job is to porter restrooms and other traffic areas during the business day. This position works in the area of Maintenance and Operations. Work contacts include administrators, faculty, staff, students, and the public. Equipment used includes vacuum cleaners, carpet extractor, buffer, stripper, ladder, brooms, mops, garden hoses, and various hand tools.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs routine and special cleaning of facilities: sweeps, mops, scrubs, and waxes floor surfaces of many types; vacuums rugs and shampoos carpets; dusts, waxes, washes, and polishes furniture and woodwork; cleans walls, blackboard and empties wastebaskets; cleans restrooms, locker rooms and showers; washes windows, cleans vents and changes light bulbs; arranges furniture and equipment for special activities; assists in moving heavy objects; inspects buildings and grounds for broken equipment or vandalism and reports the need for repairs; empties trash and garbage cans; sweeps concrete surfaces; performs minor maintenance tasks to keep assigned area safe and functional; locks and unlocks windows and doors; assists crafts workers with routine tasks as requested; participates in intensive cleaning and simple maintenance activities during vacation periods, which may include stripping and resurfacing gymnasium floors, refinishing other floor surfaces, painting and preparing surfaces for painting, washing walls, and moving furniture; performs related duties as assigned.
